Agronomical service specialists of our company carried out an inspection of the condition of the seedlings of winter crops.
Bringing back that in 2019, the winter weather was again favorable, which made it possible for winter crops to overwinter well and to get out of winter in excellent and satisfactory condition on over most of the area. But this fact does not exclude control in the spring. In the crops survey, seven key indicators were taken into account: the development phase, plant height, productive moisture reserves in the arable and meter soil layer, plant density, nutrient availability, the depth of the knot of bushing, and the degree of damage by pests and diseases. According to the survey, the crops were divided into the following groups:
– 87% of crops are in good condition, all their indicators are optimal and do not require additional work. The maximum yield is expected on such crops.
– 7% of crops are in satisfactory condition, have at least one indicator below the optimum. For this group, it was decided to supplement the seedling with microelements. Magnesium sulphate was purchased and sheet feeding was carried out.
– 6% of seedlings are in poor condition. On a number of indicators have values below optimal. This group will require significant additional costs to save them. Additional feeding will be carried out and spring crops will be seeded right next to it.
Now our experts are closely monitoring the conditions and order of the fields with winter crops.
Wheat is definitely our favorite among winter crops. It is among the most valuable and high-yielding crops. Possessing high milling and baking qualities of grain, it is of great interest from an economic, organizational and economic point of view. In the perspective of the development of the agro-industrial complex, this culture is emphasized. The productivity of winter wheat is largely determined by the nature of growth and development during the spring period of vegetation, when the tillering phase continues with the transition to the third stage of ontogenesis, which indicates the continuation of the formation of the vegetative zone of the embryonic stems, stem leaves growth.
And if last year spring was at first incredibly rich in precipitations in the form of snow, and then one day it became sharp in summer, this year spring is soft, calm and consistent. A moderate amount of precipitation, a gradual and even increase in the average daily temperature gave our shoots every chance of steady development and growth.
To date, the spring sowing campaign has been fully completed. As planned, our specialists sowed the following crops – barley varieties Helios and high-intensity hybrids of sunflower Pioneer and Syngenta. The campaign this year took place in the traditional time frame, without unexpected complications. And just in time for its completion, Ukraine was visited by a cyclone with a large amount of precipitation, but without sharp temperature fluctuations. All our plants are fully supplied with moisture. And folk and state weather forecasters predict periodic rainfall until the end of June.
At the moment, there is every reason to expect a record harvest. Hopefully, nature will be supportive and favorable this year.
With kind regards, team of GC “Agroliga”.
